Castor oil gets its rich glide from an unusual fatty acid found in very few plant oils. It is called ricinoleic acid and makes up 90% of castor oils fatty acids. That gives the oil its distinct texture and characteristics making it great as a skin barrier.
Cupuaçu is a seed butter from the same botanical family as cacao. It is high in saturated and unsaturated triglycerides and rich in oleic and stearic fatty acids, which help replenish surface lipids and soften skin. Cupuaçu butter is also known to hold 4x its weight in water, making it an incredible base ingredient in this formula.
Lanolin is a natural wax. It is primarily made up of wax esters which help the product adhere and stay put, while olive squalane delivers lightweight softness and rapid skin absorption.
Tacuma butter is high in saturated fats such as lauric and myristic acids that help fill the spaces between dry surface cells.
Natural vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant that interrupts lipid oxidation, helping protect the oils and butters from becoming rancid and nourishing your skin in the process.
Beeswax finishes the blend with a natural, flexible layer of protection built for dry weather and daily wear.

Note: Natural butters and oils may melt during shipping or processing when exposed to high temperatures, and upon cooling they can sometimes re-solidify with a grainy texture or develop a thin white layer known as fat bloom (a harmless separation of fats such as stearic acid). This is a normal occurrence and does not affect the quality of your product. To restore a smooth consistency, simply warm the butter until fully liquefied, stir well, and then flash freeze in the original container or smaller jars. This process will return the butter to its creamy texture. Please note that returns are not accepted for graininess or fat blossom; if you have questions, contact us at support@cowboybutter.shop
